“In today’s restless and intense times, I feel that people need to be reminded of something that brings them a sense of hope and protection,” says sculptor Vilém Frič. “Sculpture is my language and my form of dialogue. That is why I created a collection of minimalist Guardian Angels.”
Each sculpture in this limited series is handcrafted, carrying within it the energy of the moment in which it was created, along with subtle, original details. The artist chose stainless steel for its reflective surface, deliberately using its play of light, space, and motion.
Angel Wings I
“Steel becomes a mirror — reflecting both the world around it and the person who gazes upon it. What unfolds around us is also reflected within us. In this way, we become part of a greater whole — a connection of light, space, and presence. Through this awareness, we can influence what happens around us and become part of the change.”
These guardian angel sculptures serve as a reminder — and at the same time, as a message of positivity. They embody the belief that even in challenging times, there exists something greater — a form of goodness that transcends us, even if we cannot always perceive it.
The Guardian Angel by Vilém Frič
The Guardian Angel is one of the central pieces of the Guardian Angels Collection.
This limited series shares a common formal language, yet no sculpture is ever cast — each one is created entirely by hand and individually numbered. Every piece carries its own energy, unique details, and the signature of the moment in which it was born.
In its minimalist stainless-steel form, the sculpture embodies a delicate balance between fragility and strength, light and matter. Its shape evokes movement, wings, and stillness. The intentionally pure lines and mirror-like surface invite quiet contemplation and a personal dialogue with something beyond ourselves.
When viewed up close, a subtle detail reveals itself — in the head of the angel, a fragment of the viewer’s own face is reflected. This moment is essential to the artist.
“It’s no coincidence,” Frič says. “What happens around us is reflected within us. We become part of a whole — a connection of light, space, and presence. And perhaps through this awareness, we can influence the world around us.”
This idea runs through the entire Guardian Angels Collection as well as the related Angelic Wings series.
Each sculpture tells its own story — a fusion of modern material, spiritual symbolism, and a message of light and hope.
Angelic Wings I
The sculpture Angelic Wings Iis part of the Guardian Angels Collection, first presented at Vilém Frič’s solo exhibition at Prosper Golf Resort Čeladná.
This series presents minimalist yet symbolically powerful figures — sculptures of watchful presence, archetypes of protection that embody both gentleness and strength. Frič works with the contrast of stainless steel and stone, with reflection and stillness, movement and balance. The polished metal captures the surrounding world, light, and the viewer — creating a space of reflection and connection.
“It doesn’t matter whether we believe in angels,” says Frič. “They are here because we can feel them. They represent not only physical forms, but also a space of thought — an invitation to pause and connect with the breath of the present moment.”
