Test Exhibition August 2026

The exhibition Echoes of Silence at the Atrium Gallery presents the latest work of sculptor Elena Richterová, who has long explored the relationship between industrial waste and the fragility of natural structures. The artist intentionally places the exhibited objects in a minimalist, raw space where the combination of rusted iron, river stones, and cast glass creates a tension between ephemerality and eternity. Each of the sculptures functions as a silent monument reflecting the environmental anxiety of our time, while simultaneously offering the viewer a space for contemplation and the search for inner peace within the chaos of the modern world.

The central piece of the exhibition, the monumental sculpture Memory of Roots, forms the metaphorical heart of the entire display. In it, the artist transformed heavy steel rebar salvaged from a demolished factory hall into an organic shape reminiscent of the intertwined root system of an uprooted tree. Amorphous pieces of dark green glass organically "spring" from the metal tangle in several places. In contrast to the corroded steel, these catch the gallery light and symbolize flowing sap or an indestructible life force. The work confronts the viewer with the question of whether nature can, over centuries, absorb and transform even the harshest remnants of human industrial activity.
