Art That Breathes Technology
Sculptor Vilém Frič finds inspiration where opposites seemingly meet – in the fusion of nature and modern technologies. In his kinetic sculptures, he works with movement, steel, and viewer interaction, thereby creating space for reflection on existence, transience, and the beauty of the moment. In the interview, he describes his journey from a fascination with stainless steel to the premiere of his new monumental installation, Gate of Mirrors.
Your works often connect modern technologies with natural motifs. What inspires you to create this combination?
The purpose of my work is to enrich, bring something new, and lead to relaxation and contemplation. For me, nature represents a space for rest and, at the same time, for reflection on human existence. Therefore, it is natural for me to seek inspiration within it… read more here.
